Proverbs 3:27

Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due,
When it is in the power of your hand to do so.

Why would you ever want to withhold good to those to whom it is due? Not wanting to share, even when it is in the power of your hand to give? Are you jealous perhaps? Envious of those who have earned the good? Or perhaps you feel greed, wanting to keep all your hard earned things to yourself? We must all guard against greed or jealousy or envy for that is not the way of our Lord.
