June 16, 2012 Pastors Pen: HAPPY FATHERS DAY!!!!! Proverbs 13:1 A
wise son heareth his father's instruction: but a scorner heareth not
rebuke. So in honor of Dad, let look at the top twenty good advice from
dear old DAD! 1. Always put God first and foremost in your
life
2. Don’t seek revenge. Wait on the Lord and he will deliver you.
3. When you borrow something-return it in better condition then when you borrowed it. (clean it up)
4. Never borrow money--it’s not a sin, but you are servant to the lender
5. Always tithe! If you don’t it will seem you have bag of cash with a hole in it. (see #1, this is God first in finances)
6. Never make rash, knee jerk decisions, when under pressure--consult God!
7. Love your wife and children, they are God’s gift to you--protect them.
8. Respect law enforcement and military. Thank then for their service
9. PRAY--especially for the leadership of our nation, both national and local
10.Always be on time
11. Discipline your child with LOVE--see Proverb 13:24
12. Don’t allow strife to exist in your life--ever
13. Do what is right. Do it because it is right-even when no one is watching
14. It is better to give the wrong man a break than to brake the wrong man
15. Keep you word, even to your own hurt.
16. Always believe the best of people, especially your children.
17. Don’t give heed to what people say about you--good or bad. Don’t listen to the bad stuff you might start to believe it, don’t listen to the good you might get arrogant or puffed up.
18. Love people, pray for them, Judge not lest ye be judged.
19. Teach your children by your life that God is important, number one in your life, let them hear you pray, see you worship, attend church together
20. LOVE THEIR MOM!!! IT’S THAT IMPORTANT
21. Finally an extra one from Brother Brown-(oldest Dad in the church)--John Wayne is pretty much the best actor ever.
