FULL GOSPEL MISSION

Rev. Barbara A. Davis, Pastor

Pastors Pen, June 23, 2103: A Rest of the Story: A young boy by the name of James had a desire to be the most famous manufacturer and salesman of cheese in the world. He planned on becoming rich and famous by making and selling cheese and began with a little buggy pulled by a pony named Paddy. After making his cheese, he would load his wagon and he and Paddy would drive down the streets of Chicago to sell the cheese. As the months passed, the young boy began to despair because he was not making any money, in spite of his long hours and hard work.

Many years after this, the young boy, now a man, stood as Sunday School Superintendent at North Shore Baptist Church in Chicago and said, "I would rather be a layman in the North Shore Baptist Church than to head the greatest corporation in America. My first job is serving Jesus."

So, every time you take a take a bite of Philadelphia Cream cheese, sip a cup of Maxwell House, mix a quart of Kool-Aid, slice up a DiGiorno Pizza, cook a pot of Macaroni & Cheese, spread some Grey Poupon, stir a bowl of Cream of Wheat, slurp down some Jell-O, eat the cream out of the middle of an Oreo cookie, or serve some Stove Top, remember a boy, his pony named Paddy, and the promise little James L. Kraft made to serve God and work as He directed.

Jokes: DEA Agent stopped at a ranch in Texas and talked to an old rancher. He told the rancher, "I need to inspect your ranch for illegally grown drugs." The rancher said, "okay, but don't go into that field over there...", as he pointed out the location. The DEA Agent verbally exploded and said, "look mister, I have the authority of the federal government with me!" Reaching into his rear back pocket, the arrogant officer removed his badge and proudly displayed it to the rancher. "See this badge?! This badge means I can go wherever I want... On any land! No questions asked, no answers given! Do you understand old man?!"

The rancher kindly nodded, apologized, and went about his chores. Moments later the rancher heard loud screams, he looked up and saw the DEA agent running for his life, being chased by the ranchers big Santa Gertrudis Bull...... With every step the bull was gaining ground on the officer, and it was likely that he'd sure enough get gored before he reached safety. The officer was clearly terrified. The old rancher threw down his tools, ran as fast as he could to the fence, and yelled at the top of his lungs......
"YOUR BADGE! SHOW HIM YOUR BADGE!"
FYI: Murphy's Laws of Parenting
1. The later you stay up, the earlier your child will wake up the next morning.
2. The gooier the food, the more likely it is to end up on the carpet.
3. The longer it takes you to make a meal, the less your child will like it.
4. A sure way to get something done is to tell a child not to do it.
5. For a child to become clean, something else must become dirty.
6. Toys multiply to fill any space available.
7. Yours is always the only child who doesn't behave.
8. If the shoe fits . . . it's expensive.
9. Backing the car out of the driveway causes your child to have to go to the bathroom.

LWF - A Blessing for Fathers on Father’s Day

A Blessing for Fathers on Father’s Day

BIBLE MEDITATION:
“Blessed is every one that feareth the Lord; that walketh in His ways. For thou shalt eat the labour of thine hands: happy shalt thou be, and it shall be well with thee. Thy wife shall be as a fruitful vine by the sides of thine house: thy children like olive plants round about thy table. Behold, that thus shall the man be blessed that feareth the Lord. The Lord shall bless thee out of Zion: and thou shalt see the good of Jerusalem all the days of thy life. Yea, and thou shalt see thy children’s children, and peace upon Jerusalem.” Psalm 128

DEVOTIONAL THOUGHT:
I am convinced that America’s families will not be changed until the dads in America are changed. The key is the father. God has given us a survival manual, and it begins with the father. He is to be a God-fearing, hard-working, worshipping man of God. He is to be bold, but he must also truly fear God.

What is the fear of God? Not a cringing dread of God, but love on its knees. And I am convinced that the man who fears God the most loves God the best.

Dads, your children need to see the fear of God in your life. I’ve made an observation of fathers. Do you know what makes a good dad? He is a man who is both strong and tender at the same time. Strong, but not afraid to hug, to kiss, to love, to speak softly and gently to the children.

ACTION POINT:
These children of yours are like olive plants round about your table. Dads, if you will do this, if you will put the emphasis upon your family, we are going to see good in this nation again.

Newsletter - Full Gospel Mission Church

FULL GOSPEL MISSION
887 W. Spruce Ave., Ravenna, OH 44266
Rev. Barbara A. Davis, Pastor
Pastors Pen June 9, 2013:Paul Harvey says: I don't believe in Santa
Claus, but I'm not going to sue somebody for singing a Ho-Ho-Ho
song in December. I don't agree with Darwin, but I didn't go out and
hire a lawyer when my high school teacher taught his Theory of
Evolution

Life, liberty or your pursuit of happiness will not be endangered
because someone says a 30-second prayer before a football game.
So what's the big deal? It's not like somebody is up there reading the
entire book of Acts. They're just talking to a God they believe in and
asking him to grant safety to the players on the field and the fans
going home from the game.

But it's a Christian prayer, some will argue. Yes, and this is the
United States of America, a country founded on Christian principles.
According to our very own phone book, Christian churches
outnumber all others better than 200-to-1. So what would you
expect -- somebody chanting Hare Krishna?

If I went to a football game in Jerusalem, I would expect to hear a
Jewish prayer.

If I went to a soccer game in Baghdad, I would expect to hear a
Muslim prayer.

If I went to a ping pong match in China, I would expect to hear
someone pray to Buddha.

And I wouldn't be offended. It wouldn't bother me one bit. When in
Rome. But what about the atheists? is another argument. What about
them? Nobody is asking them to be baptized. We're not going to pass
the collection plate. Just humor us for 30 seconds. If that's asking too
much, bring a Walkman or a pair of ear plugs. Go to the bathroom.
Visit the concession stand. Call your lawyer!

Unfortunately, one or two will make that call. One or two will tell
thousands what they can and cannot do. I don't think a short prayer
at a football game is going to shake the world's foundations.
Christians are just sick and tired of turning the other cheek while our
courts strip us of all our rights. Our parents and grandparents taught
us to pray before eating; to pray before we go to sleep. Our Bible
tells us to pray without ceasing. Now a handful of people and their
lawyers are telling us to cease praying. God, help us. And if that last
sentence offends you, well... just sue me.

The silent majority has been silent too long.. It's time we let that one
or two who scream loud enough to be heard that the vast majority
don't care what they want. It is time the majority rules!

It's time we tell them, you don't have to pray; you don't have to say
the pledge of allegiance; you don't have to believe in God or attend
services that honor Him. That is your right, and we will honor your
right ... But by golly, you are no longer going to take our rights away.
We are fighting back and we WILL WIN!

God bless us one and all ... especially those who denounce Him, God
bless America , despite all her faults. She is still the greatest nation of
all. God bless our service men who are fighting to protect our right to
pray and worship. May 2013 be the year the silent majority is heard
and we put God back as the foundation of our families and
institutions.

Keep looking up!!! Jesus said, "If you are ashamed of me, I will be
ashamed of you, before My Father."

JOKE/FYI: Say What? (Things seen in print, curiously expressed.)
The burglar was about 30 years old, white, 5' 10", with wavy hair
weighing about 150 pounds.

The family lawyer will read the will tomorrow at the residence of
Mr. Hannon, who died June 19 to accommodate his relatives.

Mrs. Shirley Baxter, who went deer hunting with her husband, is
very proud that she was able to shoot a fine buck as well as her
husband.

Organ donations from the living reached a record high last year,
outnumbering donors who are dead for the first time.

The dog was hungry and made the mistake of nipping a 2-year-old
that was trying to force feed it in his ear.

We spent most of our time sitting on the back porch watching the
cows playing Scrabble and reading.

A father and his small son were standing in front of the tiger's cage at
the zoo. The father was explaining how ferocious and strong tigers
are, and junior was taking it all in with a serious expression. "Dad,"
the boy said finally, "if the tiger got out of his cage and ate you up ... "
"Yes, son?" the father said expectantly. " ... what bus should I take
home?"

LWF - My Eyes Were On You

My Eyes Were On You

BIBLE MEDITATION:
“Looking unto Jesus the Author and Finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.” Hebrews 12:2

DEVOTIONAL THOUGHT:
There once was a king captured by the Roman army. They took the king with his family to stand before the Roman general to receive the sentence of death. The king fell on his face before the general and said, “You may do with me what you will, but spare my wife and children!” The Roman general was so moved by the plea that he released them all.

Later, the king asked his wife about some of the things they had seen while in the Roman general’s chamber. She said, “I didn't see anything. My eyes were only on the man who was willing to die for me.”

ACTION POINT:
“Turn your eyes upon Jesus. Look full in His wonderful face. And the things of earth will grow strangely dim in the light of His glory and grace.” May we be able to say, "My eyes are on the One who died for me, Jesus Christ. And I have eyes for no one but Him!”

Newsletter - FULL GOSPEL MISSION

FULL GOSPEL MISSION
887 W. Spruce Ave., Ravenna, OH 44266
Rev. Barbara A. Davis, Pastor
Pastors Pen June 2, 2013:A pastor was traveling last week, he saw an old man, and gave him a lift. While they were going, the old man said; my son, do you know what happened in Heaven last night?

The pastor was so terrified and hurriedly parked and asked; Sir, are you crazy? How would you get the information about Heaven? The Old man said; last night in Heaven God became very angry with man and asked the Angels to blow the trumpet. The angels picked up the trumpets and as they were about to blow it WHEN, Jesus fell down and began to plead in tears. The blood that came out of His hands and body were very fresh. He told God that His death shouldn't be in vain.

God couldn't stand the pains of the saint and the wickedness of the evil ones. So He said; "I AM GIVING THEM THEIR LAST CHANCE." Jesus then turned to the angels and told them to move down in their numerous numbers to tell the world that:
"THE END IS NEAR, JESUS IS COMING VERY SOON".

The pastor (sweating and crying) asked; sir, how did you know this? The OLD MAN replied; I am one of the Angels sent to the World. Please use every medium of communication to send this message. No time to waste, Please! And the old man disappeared.

Brethren, this story is real, Christ is coming Soon. PLEASE SAVE A SOUL TODAY. I Have done my part, it's now your turn to spread the Gospel.
No wealth can be compared to life everlasting in Heaven. If you are Ready to share this Message, share it with all you meet." May God bless you all.
Revelation 22: 7 Behold, I come quickly: blessed is he that keepeth the sayings of the prophecy of this book.

JOKE/FYI: We are about to enter the BBQ season. Therefore it is important to refresh your memory on the etiquette of this sublime outdoor cooking activity . When a man volunteers to do the BBQ the following chain of events are put into motion: Routine... (1) The woman buys the food.
(2) The woman makes the salad, prepares the vegetables, and makes dessert.
(3) The woman prepares the meat for cooking, places it on a tray along with the necessary cooking utensils and sauces, and takes it to the man who is lounging beside the grill - coffee in hand.
(4) The woman remains outside the compulsory three meter exclusion zone where the exuberance of testosterone and other manly bonding activities can take place without the interference of the woman. NOW the important part:
(5) THE MAN PLACES THE MEAT ON THE GRILL. More routine...
(6) The woman goes inside to organise the plates and cutlery.
(7) The woman comes out to tell the man that the meat is looking great. He thanks her and asks if she will bring another pop while he flips the meat Important again: (8) THE MAN TAKES THE MEAT OFF THE GRILL AND HANDS IT TO THE WOMAN. More routine...
(9) The woman prepares the plates, salad, bread, utensils, napkins, sauces, and brings them to the table. (10) After eating, the woman clears the table and does the dishes. And most important of all: (11) Everyone praises the man and THANKS HIM for his cooking efforts. (12) The man asks the woman how she enjoyed ' her night off ', and, upon seeing her annoyed reaction, concludes that there's just NO pleasing some women.

Work meeting update....Thanks David, Cody and Bill & Davey work meet May 30, Cody & Davey continues the front step scraping , lawn mowed by David and Bill, and then David installed a light for our flag and ran the electric for the sign and the light. FYI.....To all Concerned, Lowe's is now selling American Flag doormats. As the 4th of July is approaching, many stores are trying to increase their profits. Needless to say, the selling of American Flag doormats has many Veterans upset. Veterans feel that they fought for the American Flag, many losing their lives, and many permanently injured for the freedoms that the American Flag represents, yet Lowe's is now selling the American Flag as a doormat, " some-thing to be walked on, and something to wipe your feet on", as one veteran put it. "Are they slapping our faces or what", asked another veteran. The V.F.W, the American Legion, and several other organizations was immedately contacted. A veteran with 33 years in the U.S. Navy, had gone to Lowe's to buy $300.00 worth of lumber to build a fence, but when he saw Old Glory as a doormat, he flipped out, made Lowe's take back the lumber and refund his money. Several others walked out of the store. At the Lowe's in N. Charleston, SC, the manager took all the doormats off of display because of complaints and called Lowe's headquarters to report the consumer's and veterans complaints. Those who grew up respecting the American Flag, and those who fought to defend it, would never let the American Flag touch the ground, much less use it as a doormat, to walk on or wipe your feet on it! Probably these doormats are made in China, but they are distributed by: Mohawk Home 3032 Sugar Valley Rd., NW Sugar Valley, Georgia 30746 Some of us still respect and love America and our Flag, and want it respected.

LWF - How Do You Handle A Crisis?

How Do You Handle A Crisis?

BIBLE MEDITATION:
“And he [Herod] killed James the brother of John with the sword. And because he saw it pleased the Jews, he proceeded further to take Peter also.” Acts 12:2-3

“And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, who are the called according to His purpose.” Romans 8:28

DEVOTIONAL THOUGHT:

What do you do in times of crisis? One thing we all must do, before we panic or sin against God, is respect the mystery of God’s providence.

Throughout the pages of His Word, you’re going to see the hidden hand of God...working in mysterious ways, in inexplicable ways. God is in the shadows arranging things, moving things people cannot see. That may be true in your life right now. God is working, but you cannot see Him working.

You may be in the middle of chaos right now. Nothing seems to be making sense. Everything you thought you had nailed down is coming loose, and the devil is pulling nails.

Just because it doesn’t make sense to you doesn’t mean it doesn’t make sense. Many of us have questions. As we look at Acts chapter 12, we say, “Well, how could God let a rascal like Herod be the king anyway? Isn’t God, God? If I were God, I’d turn him into a frog. And why should James be killed and Peter released? Does God have favorites? Has God lost control?”

ACTION POINT:

We do not live by explanations. Life is not a problem to be solved; it is a mystery to be lived. Sometimes we must back off and simply see what I call the hidden hand of God. Just because today you cannot see the hand of God working doesn’t mean God is not working.
